*Previously I had hospital births because it’s all my insurance would cover.

*No

*With both of my previous births my nurses/ doctors did not listen to me because they thought they knew better. My second hospital birth I swear I was being being "punk’ed" my nurse was that bad.

*This time I chose a home birth

*I had both a midwife and a doula

Why did you choose a doula?

*Honestly I didn’t plan on having a doula but my midwife Edna insisted!

What were your expectations of the doula?

*Really, (sorry Jaleesa) I didn’t have any 🤦‍♀️

Did she meet those expectations?

*She went above and beyond and made me so grateful she was there!

Did you notice a difference in this birthing experience?

*It was my third birthing experience. Yes, I noticed a huge difference between the first two and the last.

Share anything that you think would be important for women to know in choosing their birth team

*Do your research. Meet them before making your decision. Make sure you are heard. No one knows your body better than you so make sure you hire someone who understands that and will listen to your concerns. Above all, pray over it.
